OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH

CREEMOS que Dios es el Rey¹ Eterno². Él es un Espíritu³ infinito⁴ e inmutable⁵, perfecto⁶ en santidad⁷, sabiduría⁸, bondad⁹, justicia¹⁰, poder¹¹ y amor¹². Desde toda la eternidad¹³, Él existe como el único¹⁴ Dios Viviente¹⁵ y Verdadero¹⁶ en tres personas¹⁷ de una sola sustancia¹⁸, el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo¹⁹, iguales en poder y gloria²⁰.

WE BELIEVE that God is the Eternal King. He is an infinite, unchangeable Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, goodness, justice, power and love. From all eternity He exists as the one Living and True God in three persons of one substance, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory.

CREEMOS que el reino de Dios es sempiterno²¹. Desde Su trono²², por medio de Su Hijo, Su Palabra²³ Eterna, Dios creó²⁴, sostiene²⁵ y gobierna²⁶ todo lo que existe²⁷: los lugares celestiales²⁸, las huestes de ángeles²⁹, el universo³⁰, la tierra³¹, todo ser viviente³² y los seres humanos³³. Dios creó todas las cosas muy bien³⁴.

WE BELIEVE that the kingdom of God is everlasting. From His throne, through His Son, His Eternal Word, God created, sustains and governs all that exists: the heavenly places, the hosts of angels, the universe, the earth, every living being and human beings. God created all things very good.

CREEMOS que Satanás –originalmente un gran ángel bueno– se rebeló contra Dios, llevándose una hueste de ángeles con él³⁵. Fue arrojado de la presencia de Dios y, como usurpador del gobierno de Dios, estableció un reino antagónico de tinieblas³⁶ y maldad en la tierra³⁷.

WE BELIEVE that Satan — originally a great and good angel — rebelled against God, taking a host of angels with him. He was cast out of God's presence and, as a usurper of God's rule, established an opposing kingdom of darkness and evil on the earth.

CREEMOS que Dios creó la humanidad a Su imagen, varón y hembra³⁸, para mantener una relación con Él y para gobernar la tierra³⁹. Bajo la tentación de Satanás⁴⁰, nuestros padres originales perdieron la gracia⁴¹, trayendo pecado⁴², enfermedad⁴³ y el juicio divino de muerte a la tierra⁴⁴. Por medio de la caída, Satanás y sus huestes demoníacas obtuvieron acceso a la creación buena de Dios⁴⁵. Ahora la creación experimenta las consecuencias y los efectos del pecado original de Adán⁴⁶. Los seres humanos nacen en pecado⁴⁷, están sujetos al juicio divino de muerte⁴⁸ y son cautivos del reino de tinieblas de Satanás⁴⁹.

WE BELIEVE that God created humanity in His image, male and female, to live in relationship with Him and to govern the earth. Under Satan's temptation, our original parents fell from grace, bringing sin, sickness and the divine judgment of death upon the earth. Through the fall, Satan and his demonic hosts gained access to God's good creation. Creation now experiences the consequences and effects of Adam's original sin. Human beings are born in sin, are subject to the divine judgment of death, and are captives of Satan's kingdom of darkness.

CREEMOS que Dios no abandonó Su gobierno sobre la tierra⁵⁰ la cual Él sigue sosteniendo por medio de Su providencia⁵¹. Con el fin de traer redención, Dios estableció pactos⁵² los cuales revelaron Su gracia a los pecadores⁵³. En el pacto con Abraham, Dios se unió a Su pueblo Israel, prometiendo librarlo de la esclavitud del pecado y de Satanás, y de bendecir a todas las naciones a través de él⁵⁴.

WE BELIEVE that God did not abandon His rule over the earth, which He continues to sustain by His providence. In order to bring redemption, God established covenants that revealed His grace to sinners. In the covenant with Abraham, God joined Himself to His people Israel, promising to deliver them from slavery to sin and to Satan, and to bless all nations through them.

CREEMOS que como Rey, Dios más tarde redimió a Su pueblo de Egipto⁵⁵ por medio de Sus proezas y estableció Su pacto a través de Moisés, revelando Su perfecta voluntad y nuestra obligación de cumplirla⁵⁶. El propósito de la ley es de poner en orden nuestra raza caída⁵⁷ y hacernos conscientes de nuestra responsabilidad moral⁵⁸. Por medio de la obra del Espíritu de Dios⁵⁹, nos convence de nuestro pecado⁶⁰ y del juicio justo de Dios contra nosotros⁶¹, y nos lleva solamente a Cristo para salvación⁶².

WE BELIEVE that as King, God later redeemed His people out of Egypt by His mighty deeds and established His covenant through Moses, revealing His perfect will and our obligation to keep it. The purpose of the law is to order our fallen race and to make us aware of our moral responsibility. Through the work of God's Spirit, it convicts us of our sin and of God's righteous judgment against us, and drives us to Christ alone for salvation.

CREEMOS que cuando Israel rechazó el gobierno de Dios como Rey⁶³ sobre sí, Dios estableció la monarquía en Israel⁶⁴ e hizo un pacto incondicional con David⁶⁵, prometiendo que Su heredero restauraría el gobierno del Reino de Dios sobre Su pueblo como Mesías para siempre⁶⁶.

WE BELIEVE that when Israel rejected God's rule as King over them, God established the monarchy in Israel and made an unconditional covenant with David, promising that his heir would restore the rule of God's Kingdom over His people as Messiah forever.

CREEMOS que en el cumplimiento del tiempo⁶⁷, Dios honró Sus pactos con Israel y Sus promesas proféticas de salvación⁶⁸ enviando Su único Hijo⁶⁹, Jesús, al mundo⁷⁰. Concebido por el Espíritu Santo y nacido de la Virgen María⁷¹, como verdadero Dios y verdadero hombre en una persona⁷², Él es la humanidad tal como Dios originalmente deseaba que fuésemos⁷³. Jesús fue ungido como el Mesías de Dios e investido del poder del Espíritu Santo⁷⁴, inaugurando el gobierno del Reino de Dios en la tierra⁷⁵, subyugando el gobierno de Satanás al resistir la tentación⁷⁶, predicando las buenas nuevas de salvación⁷⁷, sanando a los enfermos⁷⁸, echando fuera demonios⁷⁹ y resucitando a los muertos⁸⁰. Reuniendo a sus discípulos⁸¹, reconstituyó el pueblo⁸² de Dios como Su Iglesia⁸³ para ser instrumento de Su reino⁸⁴. Después de morir por los pecados del mundo⁸⁵, Jesús fue resucitado de entre los muertos al tercer día⁸⁶, cumpliendo el pacto de bendición dado a Abraham⁸⁷. En Su vida perfecta⁸⁸ y sin pecado Jesús cumplió las exigencias de la ley⁸⁹ y en Su muerte expiatoria en la cruz⁹⁰ Él asumió el juicio de Dios por el pecado⁹¹ que nosotros merecemos como transgresores de la ley⁹². Por medio de Su muerte en la cruz también desarmó los poderes demoníacos⁹³.

WE BELIEVE that in the fullness of time, God honored His covenants with Israel and His prophetic promises of salvation by sending His only Son, Jesus, into the world. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, as true God and true man in one person, He is humanity as God originally intended us to be. Jesus was anointed as God's Messiah and empowered by the Holy Spirit, inaugurating the rule of God's Kingdom on earth, subduing Satan's rule by resisting temptation, preaching the good news of salvation, healing the sick, casting out demons and raising the dead. Gathering His disciples, He reconstituted God's people as His Church to be the instrument of His kingdom. After dying for the sins of the world, Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day, fulfilling the covenant of blessing given to Abraham. In His perfect, sinless life Jesus fulfilled the demands of the law, and in His atoning death on the cross He took on God's judgment for sin that we deserve as lawbreakers. Through His death on the cross He also disarmed the demonic powers.

El pacto con David se cumplió en el nacimiento de Jesús de entre la casa de David⁹⁴, Su ministerio mesiánico⁹⁵, Su gloriosa resurrección de entre los muertos⁹⁶, Su ascensión al cielo y Su gobierno actual a la diestra del Padre⁹⁷. Como Hijo de Dios y heredero de David⁹⁸, Él es el eterno Mesías-Rey⁹⁹, extendiendo el gobierno de Dios por todas las generaciones y por toda la tierra hoy¹⁰⁰. CREEMOS que el Espíritu Santo fue derramado sobre la Iglesia con poder¹⁰¹ en Pentecostés, bautizando a los creyentes en el cuerpo de Cristo¹⁰² y dándole libertad a los dones del Espíritu en ellos¹⁰³. El Espíritu nos trae la presencia de Dios que permanece y mora en nuestro interior¹⁰⁴ para adoración espiritual¹⁰⁵, santificación personal¹⁰⁶, edificación de la Iglesia¹⁰⁷, para dotarnos para el ministerio¹⁰⁸ y hacer retroceder el reino de Satanás¹⁰⁹ por medio de la evangelización del mundo a través de la proclamación de la palabra de Jesús¹¹⁰ y de hacer sus obras¹¹¹.

The covenant with David was fulfilled in Jesus' birth from the house of David, His messianic ministry, His glorious resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven and His present rule at the right hand of the Father. As the Son of God and heir of David, He is the eternal Messiah-King, extending God's rule through all generations and over all the earth today. WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit was poured out on the Church in power at Pentecost, baptizing believers into the body of Christ and releasing the gifts of the Spirit in them. The Spirit brings us the abiding, indwelling presence of God for spiritual worship, personal sanctification, the building up of the Church, equipping us for ministry and pushing back Satan's kingdom through the evangelization of the world by proclaiming the word of Jesus and doing His works.

CREEMOS que el Espíritu Santo mora en cada creyente en Jesucristo¹¹² y que Él es nuestro Ayudador¹¹³, Maestro¹¹⁴ y Guía¹¹⁵ permanente. Creemos en la llenura o la investidura de poder del Espíritu Santo¹¹⁶, que a menudo es una experiencia consciente¹¹⁷, para el ministerio hoy en día¹¹⁸. Creemos en el ministerio actual del Espíritu¹¹⁹ y en el ejercicio de todos los dones bíblicos del Espíritu¹²⁰. Practicamos la imposición de manos para la investidura del poder del Espíritu¹²¹, para sanar¹²² y para el reconocimiento y la investidura de poder de aquellos quienes Dios ha ordenado para dirigir y servir a la Iglesia¹²³.

WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is our permanent Helper, Teacher and Guide. We believe in the filling or empowering of the Holy Spirit, which is often a conscious experience, for ministry today. We believe in the present ministry of the Spirit and in the exercise of all the biblical gifts of the Spirit. We practice the laying on of hands for the empowering of the Spirit, for healing, and for the recognition and empowering of those whom God has appointed to lead and serve the Church.

CREEMOS que el Espíritu Santo inspiró a los autores humanos de las Sagradas Escrituras¹²⁴, de modo que la Biblia no tiene ningún error¹²⁵ en sus manuscritos¹²⁶ originales. Recibimos los sesenta y seis libros del Antiguo y del Nuevo Testamento como nuestra autoridad final y absoluta, la única regla infalible de fe¹²⁷ y práctica¹²⁸.

WE BELIEVE that the Holy Spirit inspired the human authors of the Holy Scriptures, so that the Bible contains no error in its original manuscripts. We receive the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments as our final and absolute authority, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

CREEMOS que el mundo entero está bajo el dominio de Satanás¹²⁹ y que toda persona es pecadora por naturaleza¹³⁰ y elección¹³¹. Por tanto toda persona está bajo el juicio justo de Dios¹³². Por medio de la predicación de las Buenas Nuevas de Jesús y del Reino de Dios¹³³ y por medio de la obra del Espíritu Santo¹³⁴, Dios regenera¹³⁵, justifica¹³⁶, adopta¹³⁷ y santifica¹³⁸ a través de Jesús por medio del Espíritu¹³⁹ a todos los que se arrepientan de sus pecados¹⁴⁰ y confíen en Jesucristo como Señor¹⁴¹ y Salvador¹⁴². Por medio de esto son librados del dominio de Satanás y entran en el gobierno del reino de Dios¹⁴³.

WE BELIEVE that the whole world lies under Satan's dominion and that every person is a sinner by nature and by choice. Therefore every person stands under God's righteous judgment. Through the preaching of the Good News of Jesus and of the Kingdom of God and through the work of the Holy Spirit, God regenerates, justifies, adopts and sanctifies — through Jesus by the Spirit — all who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Through this they are delivered from Satan's dominion and enter the rule of God's kingdom.

CREEMOS en una sola¹⁴⁴, santa¹⁴⁵ Iglesia universal¹⁴⁶. Todos los que se arrepienten de sus pecados y confiesan a Jesús como Señor y Salvador son regenerados por el Espíritu Santo¹⁴⁷ y forman el Cuerpo de Cristo viviente¹⁴⁸, del cual Él es la cabeza¹⁴⁹ y del cual todos nosotros somos miembros¹⁵⁰.

WE BELIEVE in one, holy, universal Church. All who repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord and Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and form the living Body of Christ, of which He is the head and of which we are all members.

CREEMOS que Jesucristo encomendó dos ordenanzas a la Iglesia: el bautismo de agua¹⁵¹ y la Cena del Señor¹⁵². Ambas están disponibles a todo creyente.

WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ entrusted two ordinances to the Church: water baptism and the Lord's Supper. Both are available to every believer.

CREEMOS que el Reino de Dios ha llegado con el ministerio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo¹⁵³, que sigue viniendo en el ministerio del Espíritu por medio de la Iglesia¹⁵⁴ y que será consumado en la aparición gloriosa, visible y triunfante de Cristo¹⁵⁵ — Su regreso a la tierra como Rey¹⁵⁶. Después que Cristo regrese para reinar¹⁵⁷, llevará a cabo la derrota final de Satanás y de todos sus siervos y obras¹⁵⁸, la resurrección de los muertos¹⁵⁹, el juicio final¹⁶⁰ y la bendición eterna de los justos y el castigo consciente y eterno de los malvados¹⁶¹. Finalmente Dios será todo en todos¹⁶² y Su reino, Su gobierno y mandato¹⁶³, se cumplirá en los nuevos cielos y la nueva tierra¹⁶⁴, recreados por Su gran poder, en el que reinará la justicia¹⁶⁵ y en el que Él por siempre será adorado¹⁶⁶.

WE BELIEVE that the Kingdom of God has come with the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, that it continues to come in the ministry of the Spirit through the Church, and that it will be consummated in the glorious, visible and triumphant appearing of Christ — His return to earth as King. After Christ returns to reign, He will carry out the final defeat of Satan and of all his servants and works, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal blessing of the righteous and the conscious, eternal punishment of the wicked. Finally God will be all in all, and His kingdom, His rule and reign, will be fulfilled in the new heavens and the new earth, recreated by His great power, where righteousness will reign and where He will be worshiped forever.
